Would you like to
become a Wildlife Volunteer?

Being a Wildlife Volunteer offers you the chance to fulfill your ambition to
work with Australian native wildlife. Volunteering can be the start of a career
path, or just a way to be part of a great organisation which aims to educate
people about Australian native flora and fauna and how to conserve them.
The committed team of wildlife volunteers at Something Wild Wildlife Sanctuary
dedicates their valued time in caring for wildlife. This includes working with a
keeper on their rounds and assisting in caring for orphaned wildlife .
Volunteer placements are limited , however, all applications are kept on file
for future openings. When placements are available, a letter of invitation will
be sent to you to participate in an introduction meeting which involves a tour
of the Sanctuary, an information session and an opportunity to experience being
a volunteer as part of the wildlife team. By the end of the tour, you will be
able to decide whether you want to continue participating in the Wildlife
Volunteer Program.
While the introduction day is compulsory, it does not guarantee automatic
placement. New volunteer placements will be made as suitable volunteer positions
become available.
Wildlife Volunteers responsibilities include
Cleaning animal enclosures
Food preparation
Assisting with Feeding animals
Assisting keepers on rounds
